The importance of money in Islam

Prophets Dawud and Sulaiman (A.S.) were rulers at their time. They were very rich and yet they were prophets. There were also some very rich Ashb-e-Rasool (S.A.W.), the richest of whom was Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Auf, who was what would be termed a billionaire today. Yet, he was so religious that Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.) was informed by angel Jibrael that Hazrat Abdur Rahman is a ‘jannati’. This shows that money is not something that is discouraged in Islam. In fact, a person can acquire a lot of good deeds and a place in heaven just on the basis of money. How about going for hajj, umrah, doing sadaqah, helping someone during a financial crisis, building a mosque, spending luxuriously on one’s family and a list of other things that are beneficial for spirituality.

To understand leadership styles here are three scenarios:
Scenario 1 - A Teacher gives a question to the class full of students, however, solves it for them;
Scenario 2 - A Teacher gives the question to the students and observes how students solve them;
Scenario 3 - A Teacher gives a question to the students and moves around the class, observes the students, and helps wherever required.

How To Start Trading: Testing Your Trading Plan

An integral part of trading plan development is testing the system to determine its expectancy – how much money could the system make in a live market? Most of us have seen the warnings posted on various financial Web sites and literature about how “Past performance is not indicative of future results.” While this is certainly true of trading plans, there are measures you can take to determine if a plan is likely to succeed in the future: Tebacktesting and forward performance testing.

The term "backtesting" refers to testing a trading system on historical data to see how it would have performed during that time period. Most of today’s trading platforms support backtesting, and you can quickly test ideas without risking the money in your trading account. Backtesting can be used to evaluate simple ideas, such as how a moving average crossover would perform or more complex systems with a variety inputs and triggers.

Communication plays a fundamental role in all facets of business. Leadership and management

According to the theorist Henri Fayol, the key functions of managers are to:
• make forecasts and plans
• organise work
• command the people under them by giving instructions
• co-ordinate the resources (money, people, time) for which they are

• control activities and people by measuring and correcting them to enable performance to fit the plans.
Each level of management requires appropriate skills and abilities:
• Senior managers - set strategies and objectives - lead and inspire others
• Middle managers - lead their teams to deliver the specified objectives
• Junior managers - manage tasks and learn to lead others.

Leadership is the art or process of influencing people to perform assigned tasks willingly, efficiently and effectively. Enabling people to feel they have a say in how they do something results in higher levels of job satisfaction and productivity.

Situational Leadership - Meaning and Concept

Leaders are essentially people who know their goals and have the power to influence the thoughts and actions of others to garner their support and cooperation to achieve these goals. In-case of leaders these goals are rarely personal and generally to serve the larger good.

Ever since man was a hunter gatherer and lived in closely knit groups, they had leaders who led the hunting expeditions and took greater risk than the rest of the group members. In turn they were bestowed with larger share of hunting, respect and a higher position in the group. With changing times, how leadership is perceived has also changed, but, it remains an important aspect of social fabric nevertheless.

Why do countries trade?

Countries trade with each other when, on their own, they do not have the resources, or capacity to satisfy their own needs and wants. By developing and exploiting their domestic scarce resources, countries can produce a surplus, and trade this for the resources they need.

Clear evidence of trading over long distances dates back at least 9,000 years, though long distance trade probably goes back much further to the domestication of pack animals and the invention of ships. Today, international trade is at the heart of the global economy and is responsible for much of the development and prosperity of the modern industrialised world.

Money in Islam

The term "Making money in Islam" was one of the keywords that lead search engines to this site. I have no specific post or article on this subject but I have gathered some interesting information on the said matter. Please read below.

The Basics of Money in Islam (The Paying of Zakat and the Avoidance of Interest)

Learn two basic canons of Muslim money. Zakat is a tax levied upon all earning and able Muslims whereas interest is an income element that Muslims must avoid. Paying zakat (Islamic tax) is one of the tenets of Islam and thus, obligatory to all Muslims (al-Baqarah: 277). There are several reasons for paying zakat. One of the seven categories of zakat recipients are reverts to Islam (at-Tawbah), sealing camaraderie between born Muslims and new brothers and sisters of the faith. This is similar to the bonds created between the Ansar and the Muhajireen during the emigration from Makkah to Madinah.
