Both the Qur’ân and the Sunnah enjoin Muslims to be conscious of time. We are reminded that life in this world is nothing but temporary. We never know when death has been appointed for us. We must value time for the pleasure of Allah (S.W.T.) the Almighty. For our guidance and success, we must never waste time nor abuse it. We must take admonitions from the following authentic Ahâdîth:

"The Qur'an and the Sunnah make it clear that time is very valuable. Almighty Allah says: "By the time! Verily man is in loss." (Al-`Asr:1-2)

Take benefit of five before five
"Take benefit of five before five:
your youth before your old age,
your health before your sickness,
your wealth before your poverty,
your free-time before your preoccupation,
and your life before your death."[Hadith- al-Haakim, al-Bayhaqee, Saheeh]

Importance of time in islam

The Quran and Sunnah both emphasize the importance oftime in the life of a Muslim.Allah swears in the beginning of many Soorahs (chapters) bytime or moments in time, forexample Allah Says (whatmeans): “By the dawn and the ten nights (i.e. the first ten days of the month of Thul-Hijjah)...”[Quran 89: 1-2]
And also Says (what means): “By the night when it covers, and by the day when it appears...” [Quran 92:1]
And also Says (what means): “By the morning brightness and by the night when it covers with darkness...” [Quran 93:1]
And also Says (what means): “By the time...” [Quran103:1]

The Concept of Time in the Qur’an Surah Al-Asr

Most of us have committed to memory the beautiful, short surah: Al-Asr (Quran 103:1-3). Admittedly, we often choose to recite it in our salah because of its brevity rather than for its profound meanings. And yet Imam Shafi’i asserted that if Allah had revealed only this surah, it would have been enough for the guidance of all humanity!

Allah begins the surah by taking an oath – ’Wa al-‘Asr’ – which means ‘by time’. Anything that Allah the Most High swears by in the Qur’an is a tremendous matter – such as ‘Wa al-Fajr’ (by the dawn) or ‘Wa al-Shams’ (by the sun). In the time of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), beginning with an oath was a method to draw the attention of the listener. Time is a concept that fascinated and awed the Arabs then, and it still fascinates Muslims now.

THE VALUE OF TIME

What is time, what causes it? Is it a dimension, can you slow it down or speed it up? When we think of time we tend to think of the ways in which we measure the passing of time, a clock or watch, or we think of a measured interval of time such as an hour or minute. Humankind has always been concerned with time, the passage of time, the measurement of time, and the scientific qualities of time. We talk about time travel, the relativity of time, the direction of time and wheel of time.

What is Punctuality? Why is it Important?

Punctuality is the habit of attending to a business just in time. It is the exactness in keeping appointments.
In a wider sense, it is the habit of doing things in the right time. If a man does a piece of work exactly at the appointed time, he is said to be punctual.

Why is it important?

The importance of punctuality is felt in every walks of life.
Punctuality is the key to success in life. All great men are punctual and even in the smallest affairs of life they do not break the rules of punctuality. Great men do not reach their heights by sudden flights. They work without haste, without rest for years and win success. People, who waste their time in idle gossips, generally come to nothing. A lawyer, who is not punctual with his clients, loses his clients and suffers in practice. A doctor who neglects to attend on his patient is seldom called in.

Importance of Punctuality

Punctuality means doing a thing at the previously designated or appointed time. It is often said that ‘art is long and time is fleeting’. Punctuality enables us to do a great deal of work within a short span of time.

Punctuality is the most important characteristic of all successful people. A punctual person is able to complete all his task on time. The student, the teacher, the politician, the official, the trader and even the layman all have to observe punctuality in order to win glory and success in life.

Punctuality brings in its trail efficiency. It helps us to build our career. A punctual person commands the confidence and respect of others. If we look at the lives of all great men, we would realize that they had got a time schedule for every day. Mahatma Gandhi used to rise early in the morning. He used to keep up appointments and was punctual to a minute.

Importance and value of time

Introduction: Time once past cannot be brought back by any means and it is important to understand the value of time. Time is money. There goes a proverb , “Time and tide wait for none“.
Time is invaluable. In-fact, time is more valuable than money. Nothing can stop the flow of time. Time once past cannot be brought back by any means.
However, some people do not realize the value of time and spend it unwisely. Instead of focusing on important tasks at hand, they waste their time, thinking that they would make up the loss in the future. They should realize that many of the future troubles can be avoided by taking prompt action in a timely manner. The famous proverb, “a stitch in time saves nine“, also highlights the importance of sorting out problem at early stage.

The Importance Of Time

Conventional wisdom fails to understand that operating
in a time-limited mode involves significantly different
behavior and attitudes from operating in a goods-limited mode
OF THE THREE types of input that every activity needs – material goods, skills, and time – I’ve come to feel that perhaps the least understood is time. In conventional economics, it is treated as a commodity (“time is money”) to be bought and sold at will, and therefore needing no special consideration. Yet experience suggests that the economics of time is not quite so simple. The following excepts from The Household Economy by Scott Burns bring out some of the key issues.

Why Time is Important ?

Time is extremely important in our life, it helps us to organize and structure our daily activities. No one can escape the passing of time. We all are subjected to aging and mortality. Time plays an important role in our lives. One can gain experience and develop skills over time, time also helps to heal things whether external wounds or feelings. Time is the ultimate measure. Activities when performed on time will be fruitful and results will be great.

Though time has no beginning and no end either. But we are able to measure it as years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds. We also have words like past, present and future, all associated to time. Time flows, it keeps on moving. What was yesterday, is not today. What is today will not be tomorrow. One has to strike the iron when it is hot. If you waste time, it wastes you.
